The Conformity And Issue Of Geographical Spatial Data Based On XML Related Technologies

With the rapid development and wide application of geographic information system ( GIS) ,a great deal of spatial data resources were produced. It is inevitable to share distributed heterogeneous spatial data resources in Internet However, it is difficult to share spatial data because of different spatial data models among various enterprise GIS.The appearance of XML technologies brings a new chance for the development of Internet, which has been paid more attention to by IT enterprises for its structural organization, extensibility and flexibility, and its developing prospect is promising. As far as Internet GIS is concerned, XML can be used in many aspects, such as modeling, storage and sharing geographical spatial data, transmitting data on network, displaying an electro-map, and so on.In allusion to the challenges which the traditional GIS faces, such as the release of geographical data and the interoperability of spatial data on the Internet, this paper studies the method to express and deal with spatial data and resolve the interoperability among different Internet GIS making use of XML technologies. The main target of the paper is to fuse spatial data based on GML and display maps in SVGThe main research of this paper includes: geographic spatial data GML-based encoding , conserving and sharing, transformation and fusion between common geographic spatial data and GML-based, the display of GML spatial data in SVG after being fused.,the dynamic intercommunion in SVG map. In the end, a test is done to display map on the Internet using the Jiangsu map as the spatial data source.In a word, XML technologies have many advantages in the application and development of the Internet GIS. XML is the foundation stone of the future development of the information technologies. At the same time, it is the base of the development of the Internet GIS. With the further developing of XML specification and the improvement of XML disposing tools, an opening and sharing environment of GIS is coming surely.
