Bosten lake, located droughty northwest area in China, has multi-functions of adjusting and controlling water resources irrigating farmland industrial and domestic waten protecting eco-environment and transfer water. Nevertheless, with large scale valley exploitation, Bosten lake has been faced with grievous environmental problem, which has become obstacle of sustainable coordinated and steady growth between society, economy and environment. So protecting and harnessing water environment of Bosten lake is pre-requisite, and that lake hydrodynamics is base of water environment research, lake flow, among lake main dynamic processes, is foremost dynamics index, basal dynamical condition of physical factors changes and an important constructing power of arousing lake environment change. Therefore researching flow characteristic in lake is basic of water environment protection harnessing and water resources rational use, which has important practice value. The horizontal scale is far larger than the vertical scale, the variation of the hydraulic parameters is smaller in the vertical direction than in horizontal direction, and the flow field can be expressed as the average flowing value along the water depth, on the base of depth-averaged 2-dimentional flow model, depth-averaged K-ε turbulence model of applying to the large shallow numerical simulation is established in this paper. In order to improve the computational accuracy and efficiency, on unstructured mesh, the governing equations were discretized by FVM. The nonlinear algebraic equationswere solved by SIMPLEC, conquering the vice of one-dimensionized numerical calculation, which make velocity field furthermore in accord with practical field. Simulating Bosten Lake, under different wind power, flow characteristic. The simulation results indicate: (1)Owing to large cubage, small inflow and outflow .located in southwest ,of Bosten lake, thereby throughput-driven energy have a less effect on flow structures, driving effect merely limits to from outfall to pumping stations and only brings faintish circulation. (2)In lake, wind-driven velocities are slow, wind power has an obvious impact on circulation structures, changes of wind power immediately brings changes of flow field. (3)Different circulation structures have a definite effect on mixed degree between inflow and lake water, which influences mineral distributing of lake area and intake water quality of pumping stations. So wind power also is main cause of influencing water quality of lake area and intake water quality of pumping stations.
