Physical teaching theory is a necessary basic course of physics department in highernormal university, and also a theorical course to master the physical teaching skill. It is notonly the bridge and tache between higher normal university and middle school in physicalteaching, but also the central part in train eligible physical teachers for middle school, whichis the finally ending of higher normal university. There are many problems in physics teaching theory course at present, such as illegiblestructure and style in course, dated content in teaching material, single category in course,limited time in class hours, outdated measure in teaching mode and unreasonable evaluationsystem. In the long time, as a discipline for physics teaching theory, it was shorter intechnicality than other physical discipline, also shorter in theory than other educationaldiscipline. This actuality made its development harder and harder. In order to change theterrible status, especially fit the development of teacher professional specialization, suffice theneeding in basic education reform, enrich the students' knowledge of educational theory,physics teaching theory must be reformed. Disciplinary teaching theory is introduced in this paper. Pointing to the problems in thedevelopment of discipline teaching theory, we reflect on the troubles and the necessary reformin physics teaching theory too. In the end, we put forward the reasons and the orientation inpractical trend. Its practicality is expected to be strengthened in the term of curricular system,building of teaching material, teaching mode, teaching practice, test and evaluation system,educational practice and teaching research. Meanwhile, strengthening the practicality ofphysics teaching theory as a course should become the ground where we should stand on inthe course of its development. The way to the development is still in practicality for physics teaching theory. Only wedo well and do more in practice, the function of this course could be exerted enough and thesuperiority of not being substituted could be showed in training physics teachers. The purpose of writing this paper is that the reform of physics teaching theory can benoticed and discussed, in favor of its reforming and developing.
