Along with the development of GPS (Global Positioning System), which has the global, all-weather, and continuous navigation and positioning as well as good anti-interference performance, GPS technology and devices have developed rapidly in the military and civil field. Being a new generation of navigation system, it can realize not only high accuracy positioning, but also precise navigation. The handheld receiver discussed here is a kind of portable man-carried handheld device with battery power supply; it can provides the information for positioning and navigation preciselyHandheld receiver can be applied widely for outdoor exploration survey, climbing exploration, traveling, on-board navigation, traffic, army and armed police etc. For a simple type man-carried and low cost GPS receiver, there is an extensive market. In this paper, the systematic design of GPS receiver has been studied; and the mathematical analysis based on wavelet theory has been carried out.The paper is be divided into five chapters:Chapter 1, the introduction part; the GPS is introduced briefly, and the significance for developing the GPS receiver is generally stated. At last, the main research content of this paper is brought forward.Chapter 2, the basic principle of GPS is detailed, and the scenario about how to construct the handheld receiver is introduced.Chapter 3, firstly, the general scheme of handheld receiver is introduced, and then two important parts - software and hardware construction method and specific content- are stated.Chapter 4, in this chapter, the GPS data processing method is elaborated based on wavelet theory, including decomposition, reconstruction and the setting of threshold value, the wavelet analysis flow chart of GPS data processing based on MATLAB software is designed; an outdoor place was chosen as the observation point to acquire several groups of data to make one dimensional wavelet analysis; the decomposition and reconstruction of signal have been made.; the data after and before processed are all computed through the...
