The gas-solid two-phase flow belongs to one of the multiple-phase flow and its relevant technology is widely applied in the fields of energy resource, chemical industry, metallurgy, environmental protection, building meterials and light industry, etc. In recent decades, a rapid development in research of the gas-solid two-phase flow has been made, whatever in the area of theoretical research or in pracitical application. However, nowadays most of the border conditions of applications in the pipeline are relatively simple in the research of the gas-solid two-phase flows both at home and abroad. In fact, it is found, according to some surveys, that the most wear and tear always exist in several complicated and suddenly changed flow fields, such as the valve. Therefore, the simulation of the gas-solid two-phase flow near the valve in the pipeline in this thesis has its theoretical and practical importance. This thesis firstly describes the theoretical models of the gas-solid two-phase flow briefly. On the basis of summarizing and analyzing of the international and domestic works on gas-solid two-phase flow, both the objects and the methods as to the research in this thesis have been established. By using the commercial computational shareware-FLUENT in the research of the gas-solid two-phase flow nearby the discharge valve in pneumatic conveying system and the k-ε turbulance model simulations in the calculation of the gas phase, the gas phase under different opening of the discharge valves has been found and analyzed. Then after the application of stochastic model, the motive tracks of coal particles with different diameters in the pipe are simulated. It is showed that 5μm of small particles are thebest in terms of following characteristics, while the 150μm of big particles arepresented without any influence of the gas place. Finally, the collision counts per particle in a pipe is calculated and the erasion issues of valves and pipes caused by the particles is also discussed.
