With the rapid development of computer technology and internet technology, people tend to get information from internet. To conform the tendency, the application of geographic information system extends its area from desktop to internet. Because of trade policy and data security, huge and multi-source geographic information resources which are distributed, complex, isolated and incompatible, consist in legacy systems. As a result, it can hardly provide enough supports for synthetic application, and lacks efficient visualization method for geographic information in internet environment. Now, web services and xml technology brings much spark to the geographic information application in web. The paper uses these new technologys, and combines spatial data integration and visualization technologys in order to provide supports for sharing geographic information. Based on the analysis of research situation of distributed web services, spatial data integration and visualization, a framework for sharing and inter-operating geographic information is presented to integrate across-field, across-organization, and heterogeneous geographic information. Then, the paper designs a web services-oriented spatial data integration and visualization platform, and takes forest information in Fujian province as example to validate the result. The main work and innovation are as follows: 1. Combining the technology of GML and spatial data integration, the paper presents a GML-based distributed, multi-sources and heterogeneous spatial data integration framework, and uses the framework to integrate SHP data and E00 data to give a way to solve the problem that geographic information is incompatible in the networked environment 2. To conform the tendency of web development, the paper researchs into SVG technology which represents the direction of vector graphic's development in the internet environment. Then, the paper presents a SVG-based spatial data visualization method, and builds a mechanism for transforming GML data to SVG data for across-field application. 3. Based on absorbing the idea of web services, using the new internet technology such as web services, xml, etc. the paper designs a web services-oriented geographic spatial data integration and visualization platform in J2EE framework,which uses GML data to integrate distributed, multi-sources and heterogeneous spatial data, and uses SVG to visualize and apply spatial data in the Internet environment. Then the paper implements a client-coordinated services chaining to integrate and visualize forest information in Fujian province in order to provide effective support for synthetical application in forest field.
