Based on ray theory for underwater sound propagation, this dissertation develops simulation research on inversion of sound speed profile in shallow water using sound propagation's arrival time difference. Theoretical and simulated analyzing the simulated annealing algorithms and genetic algorithms, and the problems of using simulated annealing in numerical simulation, the new techniques of hybrid algorithms (genetic and simulated annealing algorithms) are taken in to account for numerical simulation. The dissertation gives the result of using hybrid algorithms and simulated annealing algorithms. From the result of numerical simulation, we can prove the validity of using genetic and simulated annealing algorithms. That can be the theoretical basis at corresponding work. The main contents of this dissertation are as follows:1. Based on ray theory for underwater sound propagation, when given source location, receiving hydrophone location, the level distance between those, and sound speed profile, we can make corresponding initial angle of incidence and arrival time difference. This part can be the basis of sound speed profile inversion.2. The algorithms of simulated annealing algorithms, genetic algorithms, and hybrid algorithms are tested by a given function. The result of numerical simulation proves that hybrid algorithms might finish the assignment of searching sound speed profile.3. The dissertation designed simulated annealing algorithms and hybrid algorithms for searching parameters during inversion. Because there are some problems using simulated annealing, another techniqueof mnemonic is added up to the annealing course. From the result, it can go getter. By analyzing two kinds of result in the condition of two kinds of sound speed profile, it proves the validity of hybrid algorithms; moreover, the result of using hybrid algorithms is better than that of using simulated annealing algorithms, in some degree.
