Setting up a geological modeling that can reflect the character of a reservoir correctly is the core and purpose of reservoir description, the key of reservoir mathematical stimulation and dynamic prediction, the base of knowing the reservoir impersonally and truthfully and developing the reservoir efficiently and accurately.The paper takes the Dong'zhi and South of Bai'ma Chang-8 Reservoir in Xi'feng Oil Field as an example, using different theories and techniques of many subjects including sequence stratigraphy, sedimentary, petroleum geology, reservoir geology, petroleum reservoir engineering and so on, aiming at the reservoir geological character, on the base of basic geological study, by using Petrel which is a kind of software to set up a geological modeling, set up the geological modeling of the Dong'zhi and South of Bai'ma Chang-8 Reservoir in Xi'feng Oil Field, and it shows the underground geological character correctly and externally, reveals the collecting rule of oil and gas, becomes the base of developing this reservoir efficiently and accurately.Production and main cognition:The main method of stratigraphic correlation and classification is cycle correlation. According to the principles of cycle correlation and graded control, Chang-8-1 is divided four substratums.Recognize four kinds of microfacies in research area, including underwater distributive river course, estuarine bar, underwater levee, etc. The underwater distributive river course is preponderant, and it is the main reservoir in research area.The study on reservoir shows that the Dong'zhi and South of Bai'ma Chang-8 Reservoir in Xi'feng Oil Field has the pore structure of small pore and small throat, represents low porosity and low permeability; has two kinds of interlayer including shale interlayer and calcareous interlayer, and their electric log curves have different character.Take reservoir's average thickness, porosity, permeability, oil saturation and shale content as parameters, by using clustering analysis and discriminant analysis, the reservoir is classified three groups, the result shows that I reservoir is the bestoil-gas enriched zone.By studying theories, techniques and software about geological modeling, on the base of geological study, set up 3-D geological model of the Dong'zhi and South of Bai'ma Chang-8 Reservoir in Xi'feng Oil Field by using Petrel, reveal the 3-D distribution character of the research area structure, sand body, porosity, penneability and oil saturation, and become the base of dynamic digital modeling in the future.
