Population ecology is one of the core problems of ecology research. Population size dynamics and population statistics features of plateau pikas (Ochotona curzoniae) are researched in this paper, v/hich supplies population ecology research of plateau pikas with important parameters. The results show the following meanings. First of all, the population density of plateau pikas reaches maximum in September and decreases minimum in May at research site during the research period. Secondly, life expectancy and survival rate of different age stages and different gender of plateau pikas are different. There are double climaxes in life expectancy curves of whole population: One is 8.197 months when the population is 7 months old, the other is 6.125 months when the population is 19 months old. There are double climaxes in life expectancy curves of female: One is 8.616 months when the population is 7 months old, the other is 6.25 months when the population is 18 months old. There are also double climaxes in life expectancy curves of male: One is 7.413 months when the population is 7 months old, the other is 6.5 months when the population is 19 months old. Finally, the innate capacity of increase of plateau pikas is 0.4127, and there are two peaks in reproductive value curves: One is 2.0526 during the age group (Mon.) of 9-12, the other is 2.0357 during the age group (Mon.) of 18-21.In this paper, we develop a flow-chart with AutoCAD and implement a C program, which is based on the computing process of Jolly-Seber method proposed by Tanner in 1978. And, we design the N-S flow-charts of dynamic life table and comprehensive life table, and implement them with Turbo C. We tested the capture-recapture data, which are obtained through mark-recapture research on plateau pikas for three years at Hai Bei Alpine Meadow Ecostystem Research Station of Chinese Academy of Sciences, with these programs. The obtained results and changing tendency are compared using Excel and SPSS. These show that the running results of programs inosculate with ones computed by hand, which proves that these programs are correct and reliable. We can spare time., facilitate the research...
