In seismic prospecting especially on the sea, it is the multiple wave that causes the SNR of seismic data to reduce greatly, disturbs the identifiability of primary reflection, brings enormous difficulty on velocity analysis and excursion before and after stacking, and then affects the seismic imaging authenticity and reliability, sometimes may be false. Multiple may seriously influence seismic interpretation work also. Since the 20th century 50's, a lot of multiple suppressing methods have rushed, which differentiate multiple and primary reflection on different standard. These methods are mainly divided into two classes. One is based on the separableness between primary and multiple or other differences, including periodicity of multiple, time difference and so on. Typical methods of the first class consist of predictive deconvolution, normal moveout interconversion stacking, f-k transformation, tau-p transformation, parabola Radon transformation and beamforming. They can be called as seismography method based on the geometry. The second class methods, mainly bases on elasticity undulatory theory, through simulation or reversal development method forecast multiple, and then match it with the original data. This kind of methods is also called as undulation forecast subtracting, which including wave field extrapolated method, feedback loop method and backscattering progression method. This paper carried on extensive contrast research to many above methods, and discussed three typical multiple suppression methods: radon transformation, free surface multiple as well as beamforming. Then it studied a method called intertrace sequence regulation suppressing multiple in detail, which advanced by Bruland. Through thoroughly analyzing its algorithm, researching actual processing effect, after making great improvement, this paper raised a new suppressing method called Seismic Trace Sequence Regulation. This method can regulate seismic trace sequence by any step size, and also designed fast medium value filtering algorithm, which can greatly reduce the calculated amount for saveing the very costful computer resources. In addition, Regulation Forecast Subtracting method can keep all kinds of characteristic of primary reflection, which provides the essential condition for following processing. After model experiment, actual data processing, this method obtained anticipative application effect. In the same time , a friendly multifunction software,based on Seismic Trace Sequence Regulation method, was written successfully for further promotion and application of this multiple suppressing technology.
