For a long time, Geographic Information System has been always worked as the aggregation of the spatial data collecting, saving, managing, analysising, displaying and cartography. But a lot of GIS softwares lack spatial analysis and simulating, so isn't competent for complex aided management decision. Now, GIS has developed into Spatial Decision Support System, and it must be powerful modeling function. Firstly, this paper expounds the development of integration of GIS and geography models, namely from source code integration, functional base integration to model base integration, and especially points out the drawbacks of traditional model base integration, for example it doesn't support remote call. To overcome the drawbacks, we bring out Model Definition Document Object Model. Secondly, the paper introduces the XML summary, XML DOM, and we detail the content of MDDOM; thirdly, based on the MDDOM, traditional model base integration and COM/DCOM, we study the design and realization of the framework of distributed geography model integration; taking air-gauss model for an example, the article introduces the XML document of MDDOM and the application. Lastly, this framework has been evaluated in this paper.
