INSAR(Interferometric Synthetic Aperture radar) has become a useful technique for the generation of digital elevation models (DEM) and also for the detection of small surface deformations (for example: glacier motions, earthquakes and landslides ). Phase Unwrapping is the key point of the INSAR technology. Solving the noise problem and getting the best phase unwrapping result in the overall situation is very meaningful. This paper introduces the INSAR theory and the concrete process of calculating the altitude modle at first and exponds the cause of the phase unwrapping methods with the theory basics. After discussed the phase unwrapping theories and relative technical problems, various of traditional phase umwrapping methods becomes to reality and lots of INSAR phase unwrapping results are presented here. Then, the paper concentrates in solving the noise problem and adapts some new method such as Hungary algorithm, neural net theory to unwrap the phase. With all this noise bate process, we get good unwrapping results and analyse the reason that why the results are improved. Finally, this paper summarizes about the phase-unwrapping algorithms and discusses which kinds of algorithm fits which kinds of images best.
