Map projection is a basic research thesis of cartography and GIS, it's also the math foundation of cartology and GIS. The data sources of GIS is becoming rich, and they have different math foundation because of the purpose of cartography, the use of map, map scale and other factors. And spatial analysis and modeling needs that multi-information data be brought under the same spatial reference. Map projection transformation of vector data is becoming mature presently, but research and application of raster data projection transformation in GIS needs further efforts.In this thesis the author introduces the general theory and methods of map projection, analyzes the characteristics of vector data and raster data projection transformation, and draws a comparison between them. Then discusses the characteristics of afine transformation model and its feasibility for raster data projection transformation. Based on this model, the author designs two algorithms for raster data map projection transformation, and also implements a map projection transformation experimental system for raster and vector data.The results show that algorithms used in the experimental system can rapidly implement raster data map projection transformation, and it also can achieve required data precision.
