Research And Application On Distributed Geography Information System

Distributed GIS is an important research field of GIS, which aims to realize theinteroperability between the GIS applications. The dissertation briefly introducethe production and development of Distributed GIS and the condition of GISinteroperability. The research on expression of geographic information, present thetheory of ontology to design the metadata model of GIS data and GIS services, and thendiscuss the expression of the metadata model using DAML. On the basis of deep study inWeb service, a GIS service model based on GIS ontology and two kinds of DistributedGIS chaining-user defined service chaining and designed service chaining are proposedand elaborated. At last, a prototype of Distributed GIS service system based on theformal model is designed to prove the correctness and feasibility of the model.
