Xiaoqinling is between Henan and Shaanxi province, with an area of more than 1000km~2, being one of the principal fields of outcropping Archean Era granite -greenstone zone in China, also one of the principal producing fields.This area belongs to Xiaoqingling uplift of the Hua-xiong block in south-west North China platform , composed of granite and greenstone .In shaanxi province ,the traditional Taihua group (greenstone stratigraphy ) stratigraphic succession are classified as follow (from bottom to top ):Dayueping formation , Banshishan formation , Donggou formation , Sanguanmiao formation, Qincanggou formation, Taoyu formation. The main rock style is plagioclase-gneiss.Granitic rock can be divided into Proterozoic Era biotite granites, Mesozoic Era Yanshan period monzonite granites. Yanshan granites is closely related with gold metallogenic .There are granite-pegmatite and basic dyke rocks developed in the area.The basically tectonic framework of Xiaoqinling granite- greenstone belt has been built by one anticlinoria and two marginal faults , which was Taihua anticlinoria and Dafuyu-taiyao fault in north and Chongningzhen fault in south. On the basis of anticlinoria, many group polytype gold -bearing brittle -ductile shear zones were developed, which controlled the spatial distribution and concrete occurrence of gold in this area.There are about 600 bands of ore veins and gold bearing structural belts in xiaoqinling of shaanxi ,which can be divided into four group .Ore vein strike is near WE mainly ,secondarily NE ,NW ,and near NS . The ore vein strike of the principal gold deposits in the area is mainly towards near east -west and eastnorth.From studies of the ore -controlled structures; it was thought that folds totally controlled the spatial distribution and occurrence of ore vein. The gold ore fields were controlled by regional faults .The ore vein (deposit) with different direction, different scale and different mechanical characteristic ,and was also controlled by the favorable direction section of large fault.The No.161 gold vein exits in the west part of xiaoqinling gold field. Its scale is big and the gold reserve of prospecting is hug. The No.161 break of lode has the characteristic which slow undulation along the strike and dip.the length of break of lod is bigger than 918m,the largest deep controlled is 897m .The amount of quartz vein lenticle in deep larger than up , quartz vein's arrengment style is lenticle and parallel vein .The mineral association includes pyrite , galenite , and sphalerite ectl.
