In this thesis, we introduce the basic theories of the structure, interaction and distribution of counterions in the charge-stabilized colloidal suspension, and investigate the distribution of counterions near the colloidal particle in the simplified colloidal suspension model.First, an important concept-distribution function is presented, which will be used to calculate the related thermodynamic quantities in the colloidal system. The integral equation theory and density function theory used for distribution function of a system are introduced as well. Then, we introduce several interaction types in the colloidal suspension. The basic concepts of interactions between the colloids are presented at first, that is, direct interactions, mean force interactions and effective interactions. We discuss the interactions in neutral system and charge system in details. Two classical theories, Debye-Huckel theory and DLVO theory, used to study the charge-stabilized colloidal system are also presented. At last, the density function theory is used to numerically investigate the distribution of counterions near the colloidal particle in the simplified colloidal suspension model. Differing from Debye-Hiickel theory, the interactions and correlations between counterions are considered there. In contrast to the Dressed-ion theory, the manner used here is simple and easy to understand. The distribution of counterions with oscillatory decay form is derived.
