In recent years, many countries in the world devote to the research field of the satellites positioning, such as USA's GPS, Russian GLONASS. The most important effect comes from GPS, which gradually applies to each profession. Specially, the application in the vehicles positioning is vigorous, such as vehicles management, irrigation construction and so on.The vehicles positioning and communicating system synthesizes automatic vehicles positioning technology, geographic information system and database technology, computer technology and modern communication technology. The discovery drives the development of vehicles monitoring, logistics attempering, intelligent traffic and some military fields. It influences vitally on many aspects of the society.Developing situation of vehicles positioning and communication system is introduced at first, and some technologies of the relating fields are analyzed also. The article chooses some schemes and analyzes their mechanism in practice. Compared with other systems, it's different, which uses wireless shortwave communication and chooses grid map. After analyzing advantages and disadvantages, the designers give up using third-party controls, but develop the system with independent way. The whole design of the system commences from these schemes' traits as well. At the beginning, the physical and logical structures are analyzed. Several modules in the system are designed particularly, and some flow charts or interfaces are presented in part of designs, such as GPS communication protocol, coordinate transformation among different coordinate systems and the map's disposal and so on.The system consists of many modules, and each module includes plenty of technology details. However, the implement of the system focuses on the following aspects: the disposal of positioning information. We design system memory mode based on the traits of positioning information, and analyze its advantages; GPS positioning, including coordinates transformation, map's initialization, coordinates positioning and querying, and station information design; the disposal of maps. In this part, the article analyzes vector and grid map, and eventually present respective qualities and disposal process of grid map; the recurrence of positioning information, includes save and load of information. At the end of the article, the veracity of positioning is verified with data from some tests.
