Carbon dioxide gas is not only one of important mineral resources but it canarouse disasters. And for earthquake prediction, atmosphere greenhouse effect andenvironmental disaster prediction, it is of important theoretic value. So it is verynecessary to study survey techniques and methods of carbon dioxide gas reservoirs.On one hand, to study CO2 is for national economy development. And on the otherhand, in the course of prospecting, it should be kept away from to avoid personnelcasualty and economy loss.Along with the progress of seismic exploration techniques application of manykinds of seismic exploration techniques to finding oil and gas is becoming one ofimportant techniques to prospecting for oil and gas. Carbon dioxide differs frommethane, but there are many similarities between them. In the course of exploring oiland gas all kinds of seismic techniques applied to prospecting for methane can beused to explore carbon dioxide reservoir effectively. It includes superficial stratumseismic brightness technique, AVO, seismic attributes analysis technique and seismicinversion technique. After find out structural backgrounds of a project by way ofgeological and gravity and magnetic data we can combine these seismic techniqueswith organic one to find out oil and gas reservoir effectively. And then we candistinguish carbon dioxide reservoir from methane reservoir by means of superficialgeochemistry method to gain point of finding out carbon dioxide reservoir.This paper first of all states identification criterion of carbon dioxide formationcause and geological characteristics and distributing rule of carbon dioxide reservoirin our country. On the basis of study and analysis of elementary principle and simpleflow of seismic technology of carbon dioxide exploration it summarizes aclassification principle and identification criterion according to geophysics method inthis project. Second it presents a seismic identification technique and uses this techniquein seismic data processing and carbon dioxide exploration in ShengLi oilfield. In thecourse of this job i analyze drilling and log data of 5 wells and study the velocity anddensity between carbon dioxide reservoir and surrounding rock and participatein 3D seismic interpretation 220km2 and inversion 150km2.I use Landmark,strata and Jason software in interpretation and inversion.In the end according to application of these seismic methods to prediction ofgood carbon dioxide formation successfully in ShengLi oilfield we got applicationcondition and their strongpoint and shortcoming on the basis of these kinds of seismictechniques. We got following points: AVO technique has a good effect on identifyingcarbon dioxide reservoir in superficial stratum and a bad one in deep stratum, and itneeds high accuracy seismic data and is affected by many factors. While highaccuracy inversion technique, especially well-constrained inversion techniqueassociates abundant high frequency information and complete low frequencyinformation of well data with narrow frequency seismic data. We can calculate highresolution stratum wave impedance data by means of high accuracy seismic inversiontechnique on the basis of constraint condition of geology information and log dataknown, which supplies reliable evidence for elaborate description of depth, thicknessand physical attributes of reservoir. All these will become a steady basis on selectingsuitable seismic methods to predict good carbon dioxide reservoirs in different kindsof carbon dioxide reservoirs in the future.
