The distribution of cytoskeleton is closely related to cell's physiological function. To develop an image processing system to measure the parameters of Cytoskeleton is important for cell biology reaserach.By viewing the cytoskeleton morphology, a new parameter, peri-membrane(PM), which was defined as the ratio of cytoskeleton in membrane area to that inner cell, and some texture patameters were chosen to describe this distribution..An image processing system was developed under Visual C++6.0 enviroment to measure these parameters from the cytoskeleton images, which were taken with laser screening confocal microscope.The system was tested with three group cytoskeleton images, obtained in different condition. The parameters are all significant differences between any two groups. This result corrects with test desire. This indicates that these parameters could describe the variance of cytoskeleton morphology, and maybe useful for cell research.
