| Serpentine jade is one main kind of the jade in our country and it has important role in jade craft.Based on lots of investigation and study in the fields and a series of experimental texts indoor, this thesis studied systematically the geology general situation of mineral area , petrological, mineralogical and gemological characteristics and the quantity evaluation of Serpentine in Nanzheng of Hanzhong area. Meanwhile, this thesis discussed it's mineral type. The basic petrological characteristics of Nanzheng Serpentine was summarized through observing lots of pieces of hand specimenunder and slice under microscope. Then, it's rock structure genre was divided and every microstructural was described, and crystal morphological details was observed by microscopeand SEM. X-ray fluorescence spectrum analysis, X-ray diffraction analysis of crystalline powder and infrared spectroscopic analysis were adopted in the comprehensive research of chemical composition, mineral composition, structure characters of Nanzheng Serpentine. The research showed that the main mineral formation of Nanzheng Serpentine was Lizardite, and it's composition and structure were related with the degree of Lizardite's crystallization, the way of arrange, the content of the miscellaneous quality mineral,a quality acts for with elephant of serpentine. According to the type of serpentine' causing and the mineral geology condition of the mineral area,Nanzheng Serpentine was indicated that it was the eclipse change of Rich Mg Carbonate rock. Nanzheng Serpentine's gemological characteristics was studied detailed by instruments for Gemstone Testing and the research methods of Contrast Analysis.Last, Nanzheng Serpentine's quality evaluation was infected by it's structure, component, color, transparence, hardness, resilience and size and it's the foreground of developing was prospected.
