Danba Landslide, of which the length is 290m, the width is 200~250m, the height is 200m, the slide surface's average burial depth is about 30m, and the total volume is about 200×10~4m~3, locates at the bottom of the Baijia mountain which is in the south of Jianshe street of Danba county in Sichuan Province. Since August 2004, there were clear deformation phenomena which appeared in the slope. The movement of the landslide was made serious damage to the buildings which were in front of it. About 4900 people were compelled to leave their home in the danger area of the landslide.Danba Landslide is the one, of which the deformation speed is fastest, the hazard is most serious and the design of controlling engineering is most complicated, of the landslides in recent years in China. The landslide had been nearly stabilized by the Emergency Engineering, and the Comprehensive Controlling Engineering is under construction. But the problems, such as the stability of the slope, the design and effect of Controlling Engineering, still puzzle the designers and relative experts. The paper mostly studies the stability and Controlling Engineering effect of Danba Landslide, with theory analysis and numerical method, to solve the remainder problem of Danba Landslide and made it as a reference to the analogous engineering in the future. The study results are as the fellows:1 The result, elicited from the FLAC back analysis of the rock and soil strength factor of the Danba Landslide, shows that although the slide surface is unknown, the...
