Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) is the major toxic determinants for Gram-negative bacteria infection, which is closely related to human health and the development of inflammation. Generally, we deem that LPS transmits infection signal into cells by LPS blinding protein (LBP), CD14 and toll-like receptors(TLRs), then evokes a series of reactions in organism via intra-cellular correlative signal transduction pathways. The signal transduction pathways mediated by LPS are complicated. In spite of the great development of our cognition about the signal transduction pathways mediated by LPS, there are still many key problems unclear. A lot of explanations of the process only supposed from some study results. To search and study of new LPS-responding molecules will help us to understand the mechanism of LPS action deeply.Lrp means lipopolysaccharide respond gene, which was first cloned by Dr. Chai Yu-bo from differential-expression gene library constructed with PCR-based improved subtractive hybridization from human dental pulp cell stimulated by LPS. But the lrp-cDNA sequence (GenBank Accession number AF143740) abtained by Chai at that time was only part of the full-length, which encodes 186 amino acids of N-terminal. Thereafter the full-length human...
