The Application Of Kuhn' Paradigm Theory To Social Problem's Researching

Kuhn's concept of "paradigm" is very important in philosophy of science. It not only opens up a new research domain of philosophy of science, but also provides a new type of research mode for people's deepening of cognition about natural and social phenomena. On the basis of grasping different connotations of Kuhn's "paradigm" and the "paradigm" of social problem's researching, the author analyzes their common grounds as well as the later one's distinctive feature, its function of inspiration to social development. Kuhn's "paradigm" produced profound influence on the sociological research. Social problems evoke extensive concern because it hinders the harmonious development of society. In order to solve these problems, various kinds of views and theories emerge. At last, these views and theories come to The Functional Theorizing, The Conflict Theorizing, The Interactionist Theorizing. The paradigm of social problems' researching and the paradigm of Kuhn's have some common attributes—the attribute of the same origin, the attribute of integration, the attribute of tool and the attribute of development. Meanwhile, due to social problems' traits of peculiarity, complexity etc, the paradigm of social problems' researching have its distinctive connotation in researching object, researching method, the poly—attribute of researching angle, the mutual supplementary attribute of different paradigm, and the value attribute of paradigm's researching have important enlightenment to social development: its value of attribute makes the goal of social development conspicuous, its attribute of tool does good to ease up the social tension, its attribute of development motivates the normal movement. All of these have important significance to the process of construction of socialist modernization and the construction of harmonious society.
