Alanine/ESR dosimetry system has been greatly developed since Bradshaw firstly used alanine as a solid dosimeter to measure the absorbed dose for radiation processing forty years ago. The advantage of alanine dosimeter is: very wide dose range (1-10~5Gy), very stable, repetitious measurement ,tissue equivalent. Currently it has been successful applied on the measurement of absorbed dose for radiation processing level(10~2- 10~5Gy). It is hoped to apply on the measurement of absorbed dose for radiotherapy level(1-10~2Gy) and the measurement of absorbed dose for proton and other charged particles, but it has some problem to be solved. This paper mainly introduces that alanine/ESR dosimetry system apply on two kinds of methods for the measurement of absorbed dose: the method of absorbed dose measurement for proton irradiation, the research on dosimetry characteristics of alanine dosimeter manufactured by CIAE used for radiotherapy level. The results are: the combined standard uncertainty of dose measurement for proton irradiation using Faraday cup and alanine/ESR dosimetry system is 3.9%;The combined standard uncertainty of the alanine/ESR dosimetry system for radiotherapy dose level is 3.3%, which shows that alanine dosimeter manufactured by CIAE has the potential to be used for radiotherapy dose measurement. The main works of the author were: designed the experiment of the measurement absorbed dose for proton, as the major participant of experiment, the author took apart in the experiment from tip to toe, finished sample measurement and data analysis. In other hand, the author took part in the research on dosimetry characteristics of alanine dosimeter...
