Water eutrophication is one of the environmental problems. The Pearl River Estuary is the firth of the Pearl River and like a bugle, the river flowing to the sea through the 8 Pearl River Opening, the upper side of the Opening is the economic developed area of Pearl River Delta and a mass delivery of sewage of living as well as waste water of industry, are known to result in eutrophication in the Pearl River Estuary. Red tide, caused by eutrophication, occurred more and more frequently in the Pearl River Estuary. All nutrient matters enter the sea through these eight openings, so investigate the distribution and influx calculation of nutrients of these eight Openings is worth to monitoring and controlling the nutrients those enters the sea from the land.The content of the main nutrients in the eight Openings from March to August was investigated, and the distributions condition in space on time was be analyzed in this article. The proportion of nitrous acid nitrate and ammonia salt in the inorganic nitrogen and the influx calculation also was analyzed. The major conclusions presented in this article can be summarized as follows:1. The contents of inorganic nitrogen in eight Openings all exceeded 0.5mg/dm~3, and all beyond the fourth standard of the Seawater Standard. The varieties of the contents between the Openings were large. The contents of active phosphate in eight Openings were not beyond the thirdly standard.2. The highest contents of inorganic nitrogen in eight Openings often appeared on March and April, and the lowest contents often appeared on June and July. Taking one with another the contents on springtime were higher than on summer. The highest contents of active phosphate were often appeared on March and April.3. The structure condition of inorganic nitrogen in each Opening was similar. That is the proportion of the nitrate content in inorganic nitrogen was the largest. It was beyond 60 percent in all Openings, and in most Openings it was beyond 80 percent. And the proportion of nitrous acid contents and ammonia salt contents were...
