Measurement for it's capability is always needed in the research of the new materials. It is not only propitious to explore the preparing technology of it, but also to calculate and analysis the results in the experiment using it. For example, in the Laser Inertial Confinement Fusion (ICF), mass thickness and it's distribution are needed to be measured, but there are not existing methods and equipments at present. We chose beta - ray and finished this measurement using the method of absorption. In this method the coefficient of intensity attenuation of beta -ray must be aware before the measurement. But not like the X-ray, γ-ray or single-energy electron, there is not existing coefficient to be refered, so it must be obtained by calibration in the experiment. A series of normal materials with different thickness are needed in this at first, but they are always be absent for the new material during the period of development. So it's a pivotal technical problem for measurement of the density using beta-ray. Because the target materials of ICF are mostly made up with light elements, and the difference of coefficient for intensity attenuation is very little when measuring different light elements having close atomic number using beta-ray. So it can be solved the calibrating problem by choosing the print paper and aluminum foil as normal material. But there are also some differences in the component between these replacing normal materials and the target materials. These...
