Gas Hydrate has been one of the focuses among geologists in the world, for it's significance in energy resource and enviroment. Gas Hydrate can only exist in strict temperature and pressure condition such as marine sediment located in more than 300~500m below seawater and permafrost area. Tibet Plateau is one of the coldest permafrost area in China, and Tibet especialy Qiangtang Basin has the feasible condition for gas hydrate, but because of the bad climate here the study has been limited.Acidolytical hydrocarbon and Thermoluminescence method have not been applied in finding nature gas hydrate in overseas, but in domestic some scientists have used these methods in the research of finding gas hydrate, and have found a wondful coincidence bettween the gas hydrate bearing area and the acidolytical hydrocarbon and thermoluminesence abnormities. These two methods can be performed easy and facilely, and the resaults are steady and reliable, what's more ,these methods do not rely on a strong logistic support. And these characteristics agree to the chracteristics and stage of the permafrost gas hydrate research, so here we choose them.The samples here come from the project named "Natural Gas Hydrate Resources Prospect Investigation in Domestic Permafrost Area" which was carried out by Institude of Mineral and Resources CAGS.After experiment test we gained 10 parameters including acidolytical hydrocarbon (alkyl and olefin) and thermoluminescece, which were classified in three groups. These groups are alkyl , olefin, thermoluminescence. We choose propane as the represent parameter of alkyl, abandon the olefins for it's relationship with coal, and compare propane and thermoluminescence abnormalties.The resault shows that when the factors may infected are considered, the abnormalties are coincident with each other in our research area.Which means that these two method has a bright prospect in finding gas hydrate in permafrost area.
