| Most avian mirgration is consisted of migratory flights and stopover, fuel is consumed during the former and deposited during the later period. This paper choose the Calidris ruficollis, a kind of small-sized migratory sandpiper, to studied the energetic ecology of migratory birds during stopover periods focusing on the patterns of body mass change and phenotypicity of digestive organs and muscle, and the rate of energy deposition, the model of the physiological ecology about stopover migrants were also discussed.Anticipating energetic demanding, avian migrants deposit fat stores before migration. However, they often have to periodocally replenish depleted energy stores during stopovers. Fat is the main source of migration energy of avian migrats although more studies recently documented the use of protein during migration. In this paper, we use the date of fat through extraction apparatus according to Sonne's method and date of protein by nitrogen determination apparatus according to Kjeldahl method to get the energy coefficient of increase and decrease. The organs and the muscle along to every bird sample are devided into two group. These are nutrition system and sport system. The former includes stomach, liver, lung, intestine and kidney, and the later includes heart, flight muscle and leg muscle. All of the organs and the muscle play the different roles in the process. They have different rate of energy deposition based on the date of quantity and speed, but they also have the relation among certain parts of body. As concerns of fat deposition, the proportionately largest significant differences were in the intestine, regarding protein deposition, flight muscle showed clear variations. In the different state (I, II, III) for bird to get energy deposition, the state II is most important step for bird to get as much as possible in the shortest time. There is no evidence shows spring and autumn have difference conclusion about these three states. The fat and the protein, as the main parts of formal expression for energy deposition form, also have different patterns of body mass change and the two processes are not analogous. The fat deposition for visible fat or invisible fat is not the main reason for birds' weight increment but the protein deposition is. The protein deposition unevenly distributed throughout the nutrition system... |
