Descriptor system models are more convenient and natural than normal models, such as interconnected large-scale systems, economic systems, electrical networks, power systems, chemical processes and so on. In most cases, the controllers are designed based on proportional state feedback, proportional output feedback, and dynamical output feedback, and there is not much attention to the controller design based on derivative feedback. Since the specialization of derivative matrix of descriptor systems, some performances could not be realized by proportional feedback, but it could be realized by derivative feedback under some conditions, which implies the superiority of derivative feedback. In this thesis we investigated the problem of derivative feedback of singular systems.(1) The problem of regularization related to singular systems by derivative and proportional state feedback are investigated. Under the condition of rank[E AS∞ B] = n0 ∞ state feedback control of discrete singular systems by derivative feedback is investigated. A sufficient and necessary condition is given to ensure that the problem has solution and the method of H∞ controller design is presented.(4) The problem of disturbance decoupling problem for linear time invariant descriptor systems is considered. The definitions of disturbance decoupling and...
