Objectives : The whole-ORF cloning and bioinformatic analysis of a novel gene, 76#, which obtained from SEREX, were performed .And we also used whole mount in situ hybridization to observe the expression of the novel gene during embryogenesis of xenopus laevis. Finally, combining the results of bioinformatic analysis and in situ hybridization ,we can get several information in the function of the novel gene.Methods: The novel gene, 76#, from SEREX was cloned in to T vector and sequenced, morever, the bioinformatic analysis was also performed to identified the full-length of the novel gene.After that, the whole mount in situ hybridization during embryogenesis was carried out. Various methods were combined to analyze and predict the feature and possible functions of the novel gene.Results :We got the full-length of the novel gene, 76ft, including 289 bps and 82 amines.
