Rayleigh wave method is widely applied on engineering geophysical exploration. It's usually divided into instantaneous Rayleigh wave method and static Rayleigh wave method. The former equipment is portable, and its theory has greatly been studied, so it has widely been applied on engineering exploration. The latter's resolution is higher than the former. Because its vibrant energy is larger, its vibrant frequency is slower, and its theoretical study is inadequate, its applied domain is small and its effect has not caused recognition now. In order to improve static Rayleigh wave method, a suit of static Reyleigh wave exciting system is successfully developed in 2004 by HeBei institute of geophysical exploration and surveying. Its exciting energy is highly 20 kilometer Newton, its exciting frequency width is 2~50Hz, it can detect the objects buried 50 meter in depth .To apply and popularize the instruments and equipment, the field procedure, data processing and interpretation methods of static Rayleigh wave have been studied systematically, a suit of software system about Reyleigh wave's data processing, interpreting and mapping has been developed. Especially, some problems about picking up low-frequency weak signal and eliminating high-frequency disturbing has been specialized. By introducing into some advanced data processing technique, the data quality is in effect improved and the applied effect is greatly enhanced. The main results of the study are as below:1. The principle, field procedure, data processing and interpretaton of Reyleigh wave have been systematically introduced in the paper.2. Single-band filtering technique, for the first time, is applied on the data processing of Reyleigh wave. By using the technique, single-frequency calculation of Reyleigh wave has been achieved, frequency spectrum analysis precision, anti-disturbing ability and vertical resolution has been greatly improved.3. Co-correlated technique is first used to calculated phase difference, so the calculation precision of Reyleigh wave velocity and its transversal resolution has been availability enhanced.
