Landslide's stability analysis has always been a core problem in the researching field of landslide engineering. With the social economy's continuous development, as a geologic disaster, landslide's serious harm has deeply affected the human's life. Although the researching work of landslide's stability has made great achievements in these years, due to the complex geologic conditions of landslide's occurring, the numerous and uncertain acting factors, the research of landslide stability's evaluation is still a very important job.As a criterion appointing method of many different industries, Rigid Body Limit Equilibrium Method has been widely adopted by engineering personnel because of it's easy-to-build model and simple calculating process. Therefore a lot of experience has been accumulated in the practices. With the going deep of the research work, many researchers have realized that Rigid Body Limit Equilibrium Method is an imprecise moveable solution calculating process. Differences may exist between calculating results because the hypotheses assumed during the calculating processes of different methods are different. If improper method is adopted, errors will exist between the calculating result and the reality, which will affect the final stability evaluation. Thereby to master every method's characteristics and to understand the applicable conditions as well as the interrelationship of results of each method means a lot to analyze the landslide stability correctly. This paper makes a wide subject related investigation and research first, and then makes a deep exploration about the acting factors, analyzing method and calculating methods of landslide stability on the basis of numerous relating domestic and overseas documentations. Aiming at the often-used landslide stability analyzing methods: Fellenius method, Bishop method, Janbu method and Transferring Factor method of the Rigid Body Limit Equilibrium Method, this paper makes theoretical anatomy and compare, whereafter makes a conclusion of the merits and deficiencies for each of the four methods. On such a basis, utilizing LASA as the stability analyzing tool, and taking the typical arc sliding slope in the textbook of Soil Mechanics as well as Gongjiachun's landslide in Three Georges Dam area as the calculating instances, this paper makes a discussion and compare on the result differences when using Fellenius method, Bishop method, Janbu method or Transferring Factor method of the Rigid Body Limit Equilibrium Method to analyze arc sliding slope and pline sliding slope's landslide stability. The results show:...
