Study On Application Of GIS In Ancient Town's

After many ruins by people and disasters, the number of ancient towns in China has been greatly reduced. It is very significative to protect and manage the ancient towns well for the development of our tradition and the continuable prosperity of local economy. However, the managing mode or means is dropped behind, which can't meet the demand of ancient towns'management. It brings many problems, such as protection and management being lagged. So it is a very necessary and urgent work to strengthen the protection and management by the information technology. At the same time, this work can improve the application of information technology in the field of townish equipment administration and the development of social.Directed by the theory of system science, integrating many kinds of subjects, applying the theory and method of systems engineering, through the analysis of the aims and contents of the system, the means and technique of development, and the selection of modes, we carried on the construct design and function design. Further more, we analysed the structure of spatial data and the data models. And we carried on the structure design of spatial data and the concept design and logic design of data base. Finally, we established the united data base. Based on SuperMap Object 2003 and SQL server 2000, using the Visual Basic 6.0 and Delphi 7.0 as the tool of programme, we built the protection and management system on ancient town in CiQikou. There are six subsystems in the system structure, such as subsystem, database management subsystem, system control subsystem, special subject analysis subsystem, three-dimensional display subsystem, typeset and export subsystem. There are seven function modules in the function design, such as browse module of map and attribute, map control module, query and position module, input and edit module, special subject analysis module, three-dimensional display module, typeset and export module. The structure of system is reasonable, and the serving function is good. The highlight of the system is the combination of GIS technology and the requirement of ancient towns. The system integrates many kinds of technology, and provides a efficient and shortcut tool for the protection and management in ancient towns.
