Two KS genes and six SOD genes were retrieved from 85 strains of spone-associated bacteria including twenty-one actinomycetes isolated from Craniella anstrialiensis and nine bacillus isolated from Dysidea avara and other 56 strains from Stelletta tenui and Halichondria by means of PCR.The KS domain amplified from BacillusC89 and B111 were 669 bp in length. The BLAST result showed that the two KS domains were most closely related to the KS sequences of Bacillus subtilis subtilis with relatively high confidence(93% similarity). The SOD domain amplified from DNA of Bacillus C93,C123,B18,B19,B22,B27,B111 and Craniella anstrialiensis were 480 bp in length. The BLAST result showed that the six SOD domains were most closely related to the SOD sequences of bacterias belong to Bacillus. Phylogenetic analysis demonstrated the KS domain belong to trans-AT KS domains and the SOD belong to Mn-SOD,and SOD from C123 is a new unfounded SOD.These findings demonstrate:(1)The existence of SOD in both marine sponge and bacteria associated with the marine sponge (Halichondria, Dysidea avara) as well as the existence of PKS gene in bacteria associated with the marine sponge (Halichondria,Dysidea avara).(2)The deversity of...
