Because Poisson's ratio descends obviously, AVO gradient is negative generally, so Poisson's ratio is a very important parameter to detect the hydrocarbons directly in AVO research, the variety of Poisson's ratio can also reflect the rock lithology of the formation, so it has important value in the hydrocarbon detection.Poisson's ratio inversion is studied based on the research of forward model in this paper AVO forward modeling makes use of the Shuey simplification form mainly. Firstly, double layer theoretical geology model is modeled, the reservoir parameter influence for AVO effect is analyzed. Then multi-layer theoretical geology model is analyzed. Finally, AVO inversion is carried on to the actual seismic data, again comparing with actual result.AVO inversion introduced by this paper can acquire Poisson's ratio section. The method is easy to operate, efficient in computation, can discover and track quickly lower Poisson's ratio anomaly that has something to do with sandstone containing the natural gas. It is very important in practical application.
