Diamond is the miraculous material that exhibits a range of excellent properties. Compared to other known materials, it has the hardest quality and the highest room-temperature thermal conductivity, a broad transmission spectral range, high punch-through voltage and high mobility of carrier, and it is radiation-hard and chemically inert to all acid and base reagents. Due to its remarkable properties, diamond has been using to many fields such as industry, scientific research, national defence, medical treatment etc. For example, it has been used extensively as an abrasive and cutting tool material, heat spreaders for semiconductor laser and high-power laser weapon, windows for infrared, anvils of DAC and etc。Since the first man-made diamond was synthesized by G.E. Company in 1954, the technique for the synthesis of diamond has been greatly improved.
