In recent years, soliton issue in the optical fiber has attracted a great deal of research interests, the theory and practice about soliton has been consummated constantly, the application of soliton tend towards commercialism, however, the soliton have not been researched in some peculiar medium or waveguide yet. The transmission, diffusion and radiation of electromagnetic wave has attracted a great deal of research interests in chiral medium or waveguide. Special optics characteristics of chiral medium may be applied in actual work, for that reason, optical soliton switching issue is studied in the chiral fiber and apparatus consisting of a chiral medium.In this paper, firstly, we have summarized research actuality of soliton in the fiber, chiral medium and chiral fiber, and introduced some special characteristic of soliton in chiral fiber. We have expounded and compared two kinds of numerical value methods that simulate soliton transmission in fiber.Secondly, through numerically simulating some characteristic of the soliton transmission, we reproduced prevenient works, at the same time, validated numerical method validity.Thirdly, based on Maxwell equations and constitutive relations of chiral medium, coupled nonlinear Schr?dinger equations,which is describing the coupling among various polarized components in two cores,are obtained. Numerical simulation is carried out for the transmission of solitary components by using split step Fourier transformation method. Corresponding to the weak and strong coupling cases, the interaction between two balanced circularly polarized solitary components in transmission is investigated. We have also researched transmission of two bunches of input light in chiral fiber and point out potential application.Finally, the optical soliton switching issue is studied in the chiral nonlinear directional coupler consisting of a chiral fiber. We have summarized research actuality of nonlinear directional couplers and their enormous potential for all optics communication.
