Linear programming (LP) is the most important branch of the operations research; it is perfect in theory and extensive use. It's no difficulty to enhance the economic benefits of enterprise by LP model on computer.In this article, we first analyze the production processes and internal relation of BEPC (Beijing Eastern Petrochemical Co. Ltd) ethylene production system, and then establish a linear programming model to the complicated production, building a linear programming model for 4 factories of this corporation to optimize its ethylene production and maximize its benefits, which covers the range from raw materials to the final products.This real world model is solved by the inner solver of Excel. The objective function of the model is calculated and the detailed production plan is given to guide the operation of the company.Although the model constraints are established under some ideal conditions, and the real production system of the company is more complicate than that we describe in our model, it is clearly that the corporation will be able to adjust its production plan according to the market by using the advanced optimization technology.
