The city is the product of human civilization and the concentratedexpression of development of human society.In recent years, the rapiddevelopment of city promoted the development of human society andfinance,but causedtremendous damage tosurroundingecological environmentof city. In order to coordinate the relationship of human and nature, realize thesustainable development of economy and society.The government of jilinprovince and CGS set a project《the evaluation of jilin provinceEco-Geochemical》todosomeworkinurbanEco-Geochemicalevaluation.thecity of changchun occupies an important position in political, economic,cultural in the northeast region and its unique location,make her become themost important area of the project.in order to manage the project in a betterdegree, especially deal with a large number spatial data and attribute data ofprojects, Project staff developed a " Eco-Geochemical Information System inChangChun City (City-GIS)" this project is completed with Jilin universityas undertaking department and the government of jilin province and CGS asassistant.It is a information system supported Arc/Info latform and VB and usingMapObjects as secondary development programming language. Its basic datais constructed by spatial data and attribute data of Changchun Cityeco-geochemical research.By selecting appropriate means of constructingdatabase the City-GIS has managed geo-environment information in pointincluded air environment data and soil environment data. some especialfunctions that users demand but GIS doesn't possess are accomplished bywriting specific code in VB. Then a powerfully comprehensive function isrealizedafterintegratingtheabovetwo.the system's development absorbed the idea of prototyping, prototypingis"Rapid Prototyping Methodology"for short, the prototype system can runan early version, which reflects the final part of the important functions and features. Rapid Prototyping Methodology means inputting a small quantity ofmanual efforts, material resources, building an original model which makesusers read its general picture and primary effect and providing modificativeadvice, then the researcher make it perfect, herein a satisfactory system isachievedafterrepetitiouswork.Thissystemhasmanyfunctionsasfollows:Firstly, the flexible function in loading files,system can load all kinds ofArcMap files,analysis and deal with the spatial data and attribute data init.Thisfunctionisacharacteristicofsystemcomparetoothers.Secondly, the system has a identify function, users can see each samplepointattributethrough"attribute"toolontheelectronicmap.Whenusersclickany sample point, all attributes related are displayed on the screen, whichincludesthename,chemicalcomponent,pH,Locationandsoon.Thirdly, it has a powerful query and search function. The system has afunction of multiple attributes of any range which spreads all the samplepoints and its attributes. There are two methods to query, single and multiplecondition query, the former refers to querying all the attributes through theserial number or the name of a sample point, which demands that the givenquery condition is accordant to the practical sample point number orname.Therefore, it's also called precise query. Multiple condition querymeansthat users can offer many conditions with different range. The system willquery all sample points meeting query conditions and display their attributeinformationonthescreen.Userscanreadandprinttheinformation.Finally, it has a function of controlling electronic map, which includesselecting map layer, expanding and contracting map, map browsing, full mapdisplayand"eagleeye"function.Many softwares are applied in developing the system,MapGIS6.5,ArcView3.3, ArcMap and Arctools are used to buildmap attributedataset;Photoshop 9.0 is used to deal with pictures; Some special functionsarerealizedbyVBprograms. In the progress of the project,City-GIS playa veryimportant role, It usedGIS technologyto manage data related to project effectively, has a simple andfriendly interface, can display and exchange research achievementconveniently.After inputting information into system, the project staff couldsee the data of task and workaround, exhume the character of urbanEco-Geochemical by using visual display, spatial analysis, thematic mapping,printing. Supply effective information to researchers.Compare to traditionalseparate research,The data of system is credible, Facilitate mutualauthentication,feedback,savemanpowerandresources.The text also talk about the prospects for the future of the system,pointoutthedirectionofthesystem'sfuturedevelopment—WebGIS.In a word, the system realizes the storage and management of spatial andattributes data of sample point in the city of changchun, develops manycommercial software, writing a specific program in VB, which makes it haspowerful query function and practical connection computer.Realize managingand storaging the spatial data and attribute data of changchunEco-Geochemicalevaluation.
