Study On GIS Symbol Sharing And Alternation Based On Web Service

21st century is a network time, nowadays GIS map symbol sharing is still in the step of sharing between isolated platforms, people have tried many ways, such as data format translation, symbol format translation, TrueType font and symbol corresponding table. To some extent, most of them have solved GIS map symbol sharing problem, but they didn't band it together closely in the trends of network to realize GIS map symbol sharing on web.According to the above analyses, after making scientific researches and comparing with general methods of map symbol sharing based on Common Map Symbol Library(CMSL),this dissertation put forward a framework of common GIS map sharing and Alternation based on Web Service—SIBW which is composed of UDDI and SOAP in the web platform. The framework shields map symbol system from GIS software's inside ones, the biggest obstacle of map symbol sharing, and support spatial data's symbolization in various GIS software, through which map symbol library's one for many mechanism and map symbol's synchronous sharing with geo-information sharing in the network can be implemented. Besides, it provides the CMSL's communication mechanism with many other map symbol libraries, which expands the sharing range of CMSL.This paper takes geography information symbol sharing and Alternation Centre based on Web Service for example, depicts its key technology and framework as well as the idiographicapplications of the sharing mechanism and method mentioned above.
