During the last decade of the 20th century, Geoparks, together with their own unique geological heritages and rarely geomorphic landform, have been got much more attention from tourists and governments all around the world. The geoparks now play a positive role in promoting the protection and sustainable development of geoheritages, as well as the development of local economy.Although the establishment of national geoparks has been ongoing in China for more than 10 years, and made certain benefits in environment protection, geologic science popularization and tourism economy for local communities, there are still some barriers which strongly prevent their further development. The lack of scientific research on the geomorphologic heritages in national geoparks is now becoming one of the most serious problems. Because of the lack of information about geomorphologic science of national geoparks, tourists can not understand how the beautiful landforms in the geoparks formed and developed in the past.Changshan National Geopark is located in the west of Zhejiang Province and has become known for its some standard geologic sections (O3). Actually, the landforms in the park are also special and very interesting, and attracted many tourists in the past years. In order to improve the geologic significance of the park, this paper has made some investigations and researches on the geomorphologic scenes of the park. Furong Gorge is a"V"-shaped valley with a wide alluvial terrace, and Sanqu Mt. is famous for its Karst landform.Based on the data acquired from field work and experiments in laboratory, the paper reveals that a river capture occurred in Furong Gorge in about 100kaB.P. It is Fangcun Stream that captured the water in Jingyuan Stream and made the Jingyuan Stream lose its upper reach in Furong Gorge. A tectonic movement of the fault crossing the Fangcun Stream may be the main reason causing the river capture. The data from field work also shows that the Karst landforms such as caverns, stalagmites, distribute at different heights and extend along some faults and joints with NE, NNW directions. In the last part of the paper, an introduction system to the geomorphic science in the park was designed to promote the tourism. According to the geomorphic and sedimentary characteristics left by the river capture event, the paper selects some reasonable tourism nodes and makes scientific interpretations for each node. The interpretation may help tourists appreciate the beauties of landform in the park.
