Pauropodidae, a family consisted of small soil fauna, belongs to Myriapodous arthropods, Progoneata, Pauropoda, order Tetamerocerata. By th year 2005, no more than 300 Pauropodidae species have been found worldwide, less in Asia. It's Only Tailand, Vietnam, Korea, Japan, USSR and China these six countries in Asia that have such reports. And only 51 Pauropodidae species in these countries have been found (among them, 3 species can't sure). In China, Pauropoda are poorly studied, only 7 species have previously been recorded, 6 from Zhejiang Province and 1 from Xizang (Tibet) Autonomous Region (Zhang and Chen, 1988). From then on there were no further reports published.Between 2005 and 2006 field trips were made in Dr. Sun Yat Sen's Mausoleum and Memorial Park in Zijin Mountian and Laoshan Forest Park in Laoshan Mountain in the suburbs of Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. Berlese-Tullgren extractions of soil samples were made (parts of the species are not identified). From the collected material more than two hundreds specimens of pauropods were sorted out, about 40 adult specimens collected in 2006 were observed among which 6 species belong to the Pauropodidae could be identified so far, all of them as new to science. They are described below: Allopauropus (Decapauropus) disphaeroides Shen and Song sp. n., A. (D.) crassescens Shen and Song sp. n., A. (D.) apicalis Shen and Scheller sp. n., A. (Allopauropus) nanjingensis Shen and Scheller sp. n., Pauropus dorsappendix Shen and Sun sp. n., Slylopauropus (Donzelolauropus) zijinensis Shen and Sun sp. n..The keys to Chinese genera and subgenera of Microcoryphia are listed. General morphological characters and the known species of Chinese Pauropodidae species with their distributions in China are mentioned in this paper. Additionly, the methods of collecting, preservation and observation are described here. All the samples in our research are kept in the Genetic Resource Institution, Nanjing Normal University.
