In this paper, we studied the finite time stabilization problems of two different type nonlinear systems.Firstly,we considered the finite time stabilization of uncertain nonholo-nomic systems.By extending the adding-a-power-integrator technique, a nonsmooth state feedback controller is explicitly constructed to render the systems globally finite time stable with any given settling time. Secondly,for a nonlinear system with dynamic uncertainties,a partial-state control design is proposed in a constructive way.With the adding-a-power-integrator and input-to-state stability technique,finite-time stabilization of a class of uncertain nonlinear systems is obtained.
