The geological exploration of oil and gas in China and the world shows that formation and preservation of any oil and gas basins or fields are not isolated, but subject to regional geological and tectonic conditions. The form, movement, and assembly of oil and gas are fairly concerned with surroundings' geological and tectonic evolution. Therefore, in order to get a good command of assembly accumulation of a region's oil and gas, its tectonic features and relation to oil and gas ought to be studied in a deep-going way.According to the previous researching results, HOH XIL may has large oil and gas fields. In surface scientific investigation, some local surface has ever been founded leaking asphalt. All of studies prove that HOH XIL is a basin that contains large oil and gas. So, the study and forecast on oil and gas resources has a great and practical significance. The author focuses on tectonic feature, spatial distributing, combination and evolution of its faults and folds, revealing the regional structure through distilling data from tectonic pictures of remote sensing. Based on this and resulting in previous researching, the author analyzed advantageous structure of oil and gas in HOH XIL, and studied its preservation to predict the objects of oil and gas resources. The result goes as follows:(1) Setting up and examining signs of remote sensing, interpreting HOH Xil basin, then dividing it into 5 layers.(2) A total of 137 faults and 23 folds were interpreted: 6 faults were newly discovered, 4 of which were quite large and effective; 13 folds were newly deciphered, and two of which were conducive to oil preservation.(3) Selecting the advantageous tectonic structure of oil and gas, predictinglong-term oil and gas resources, and fixing 4 potential objects.
