China is one of the most serious countries suffering landslide disaster in the world.The economic loss caused by collapse and landslide is about 20 billion RMB every year,which cause enormous damage to the people and our country.Danba Landslide is the one,of which the deformation speed is fastest,the hazard is most serious and the design ofcontrolling engineering is most complicated,of the landslides in recent years in China.Monitoring technology exert significant effect during Danba landslide control.In onehand monitoring provided important guidance to the decision-making of control,pre-warning and predicting,appraisal the effect of exigent cure engineering,in otherhand monitoring give basis to choosing and design,construction safeness,the effectappraisal,the design optimization in comprehensive cure engineering.Study onmonitoring of Danba landslide,pre-warning and prediction is not only significative forlandslide monitoring but also process with practical merit.Firstly,in this paper presented the applicability of many monitoring methodscurrently,then took danba landslide as an example detailedly expatiated how to applymonitoring technology to this landslide control,and what function should monitoringexert in landslide control.1 Based on the study of geological engineering conditions,basic characters,evolutionary process and the parameters of rock and soil offered by the results ofpioneering,the stability of Danba landslide was calculated,and the 3D-finite elementmodel was set up to simulate the deformation and the stress field at earlier stage.Thesesteps above can be regarded as reference of monitoring design.2 Detailedly presented how to choose monitoring items,instruments,how to dispose and lay monitoring points.General principles which every step of monitoring designshould follow were summed up.Key positions of deformation monitoring layout in everytype of landslide were summarized,according to different types of deformationmechanism and evolutionary process.3 In every stage of Danba landslide control,monitoring data in deferent aspects,collected by different instruments was synthetically,systematically and comparativelyanalyzed,through which the stability,deformation stage,basic characters,mechanism oflandslide and main environmental factors which influence the landslide were appraisedquantitatively and qualitatively.Then the process of monitoring information feedbackwas expatiated.4 Predicted the time of landslide failure,set up pre-warning guideline system whichexert important affection.Through the anti-slide pile monitoring data,the landslide thrustdistribution law was calculated;the result can give some guidance to anti-slide piledesign.
