In survival data analysis, several groups of data are often used for comparison. For example, in medicine experiment analysis, the study whether a certain medicine can prolong a certain paroxysm patient's life span, usually adopts control–treatment experiments, two groups of the examination objects selected. One group is the control group, and the other for the treatment group. The control group usually takes the placebo; the other takes the experimental medicine. After the observation for some period, the result of two sets of data can be collected for analysis and the conclusion is made whether the medicine can extend a certain paroxysm sufferer's life span based on the collected data. Two statistics methods are usually adopted: parametrical models and non-parametrical models. On the basis of other's researches, four experiments are conducted onto the rats, injecting a certain medicine into rat's body and observing their survival living time. And then the data from the observation is analyzed with the non-parametrical methods–log-rank statistics.
