In recent years extensive research has been carried out on DAST crystal to use its excellent nonlinear optical properties efficiently for the generation and detection of terahertz (THz) frequencies. This paper studied on how to prepare DAST crystal, and found seed crystal method was a good way to prepare large and high-quality DAST crystal. The effects of preparation method, temperature and cooling speed on the growth of DAST crystal was investigated in details. The optical property and XRD curve of DAST crystal were studied. We studied thermal stability of DAST crystal and proved that phase transition temperature of DAST crystal was 260℃. We think it is feasible to prepare DAST crystal by fusil method. At the same time, the loss of weight process of DAST crystal at 37~800℃was discussed. We also primarily discussed the polarized Raman spectrum, and found DAST crystal is aeolotropic.Now, single molecular magnet (SMM) has received much attention. It has been hotspot in many research areas, such as condensed matter physics, magnetism, material science and so on. Ni4 is a kind of single molecular magnet. This paper also studied on the bond information of Ni4 by FT-IR. This paper also studied the growth method of single molecular magnet Mn12 -AC, and prepared large Mn12 -AC single crystal by improving on whipping at room temperature. This paper also studied on dissolvability Mn12 -AC.
