With the development of satellite navigation, It becomes more and more mature, and it is now well used in positioning, navigation and timing. However, as it is made by hardware, traditional hardware-based receivers provide the least flexibility. The software-based receivers, with its flexible, it is easy to be upgraded to adapt the development of new technique and it is also convenient for us to simulate and analyses new algorithms. Processed by software, digital signal can avoid the disturbance caused by humidity and temperature. Recently, the research of software-based receiver has become a hotspot. The software-based receiver is a technique that an analog-to-digital converter should be placed as near as possible to the front-end and the resulting samples should be processed using software to get necessary information for application such as navigation, positioning and timing. This paper is focus on the flowchart of the software-based receiver and the method used for signal acquisition, signal tracking and data modulation. This paper also studies and accomplishes the deduction of navigation data and C/A code signal, the solution of navigation position with the least square method. A new method using wavelet to depress the effect of multipath is tested in the paper. It also analyses the least square residuals method, which is used to receiver autonomous integrity monitoring. A C/A software-based receiver based on Matlab and VC++6.0 environment is developed.
