The reservoir recovery of Dorissa Oilfield in Block 1-AB of Peru, which now have been at the stage of extra high water-cut, is very high, and it is very hard to predict the distribution of remaining oil. According to the real geological situation of Dorissa Oilfield, the reservoir heterogeneity is quantitatively characterized; the distribution and the controlling factors of the remaining oil in the low amplitude structure reservoir within extra high water-cut stage are comprehensively illustrated from many aspects and by using dynamic and static data. It predicts the enrichment regions of the remaining oil and gives scientific basis to the next development and adjustment of the remaining oil. Several achievements have been obtained as follows: first, refined and quantitative reservoir geological model which reflects the objective subsurface situation have been established, and it includes stratigraphic model, sedimentary model, low amplitude structure model, reservoir heterogeneity model and so on. Second, on the basis of research about micro, inlayer, on-layer, and interlayer reservoir heterogeneity, a new method to characterize reservoir heterogeneity by using IRH(index of reservoir heterogeneity) is introduced. Third, revealing the controlling factors of reservoir heterogeneity in Dorissa Oilfield: sedimentary environment and diagenesis are the main controlling factors, dynamic production situation is the less important controlling factor of reservoir heterogeneity. Fourth, clarifying the formation conditions, distribution laws and controlling factors of the remaining oil in the low amplitude structure reservoir, revealing how reservoir structure, sedimentary microfacies, reservoir heterogeneity, interlayer distribution, dynamic production situation, and micro heterogeneity control the distribution of remaining oil, and thinking that"regional scarceness and local enrichment"is the main character of the remaining oil at the extra high water-cut stage. Fifth, comprehensively analyzing reservoir structure, sedimentary microfacies, net pay, reservoir physical property, interlayer distribution, IRH, dynamic production situation and the results of numerical simulation, the enrichment regions of the remaining oil, which are suitable for new infill wells and for restarting shut-in wells, have been proposed.
