Study On Taxonomy Of The Family Keroplatidae From China (Diptera: Keroplatidae)

The present dissertation deals with the taxonomy of Keroplatidae from China. The research history of Keroplatidae at home and abroad is briefly introduced. The different opinions over the generic classification of the family are summarized. The general morphology, biology, geological distribution, etc of Keroplatidae are also given in the introduction.In taxonomic part, 59 species in 3 subfamilies and 16 genera known from China are described. 27 new species are described: Macrocera emeiensis, sp. nov., Macrocera nigrapicis, sp. nov., Macrocera wanglangensis, sp. nov., Platyroptilon wui, sp. nov., Setostylus chinensis, sp. nov., lsoneuromyia completa, sp. nov., lsoneuromyia singula, sp. nov., lsoneuromyia sinica, sp. nov., lsoneuromyia wolongensis, sp. nov., Macrorrhyncha gracilis, sp. nov., Monocentrota pecuris, sp. nov., Monocentrota sichuanensis, sp. nov., Neoplatyura gilva, sp. nov., Neoplatyura glandaca, sp. nov., Neoplatyura puncta, sp. nov., Neoplatyura rotundata, sp. nov., Neoplatyura wuyiensis, sp. nov., Neoplatyura yangi, sp. nov., Orfelia baishanzuensis, sp. nov., Orfelia hevola, sp. nov., Orfelia rnaculata, sp. nov., Orfelia subaequilonga, sp. nov., Rutylapa longa, sp. nov., Urytalpa barbata, sp. nov., Xenoplatyura bifida, sp. nov., Xenoplatyura lata, sp. nov. and Xenoplatyura sichuanensis, sp. nov.. 10 genera are recorded for the first time from China: Heteropterna Sknse, 1888, Platyroptilon Westwood, 1850, Setostylus Matile, 1990, Monocentrota Edwards, 1925, Neoplatyura Malloch, 1928, Orfelia Costa, 1857, Rutylapa Edwards, 1929, Urytalpa Edwards, 1929 and Xenoplatyura Malloch, 1928.9 species: Heteropterna septemtrionalis (Okada), lsoneuromyia semirufa (Meigen), Monocentrota sidorenkoi Zaitzev, Neoplatyura biumbrata (Edwards), Neoplatyura elongata Uesugi, Neoplatyura flava (Macquart), Neoplatyura maruyamaensis Uesugi, Proceroplatus mikado (Okada) and Xenoplatyura octosegmentata (Brunetti) are newly recorded from China. In addition, keys are provided to the 3 subfamilies, to the 16 genera and to all species recorded from China and 122 figures were given.
